My name is Camila Melícia Valgas, I am a 26-years-old journalist graduated at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. I was awarded an Orange Tulip Scholarship to continue my studies at Maastricht University, where I studied the master’s programme Media Studies: Digital Cultures. I speak English, Portuguese and a bit of Dutch and Spanish.

I have experience working video production and YouTube. I have training from Google about brand campaigns, collaboration between creators, analytics and foundations of business. I have worked in a certified YouTube network in Brazil dealing with big channels, being video producer, copywriter, digital marketer and social media. I am successful at growing YouTube channels. I can manage the process from beginning to end (content planning, script, recording, editing on Adobe Premiere, creating thumbnails on Adobe Photoshop and SEO strategies on Youtube). 

Moreover, my master's degree provided me with a wide skill set in digital tools and research methods to become a media researcher and an active player in a wide range of industries and cultural and heritage organisations in today’s digitally-mediated world. I am familiar with different methodologies such as digital ethnography, digital phenomenology, text analysis and data mining, qualitative interviews, design thinking and user-centred design. In addition, I developed skills on 3D modeling, audio and video editing, academic and journalistic writing. I am passionate about video storytelling, web design, writing and photography.

In my spare time, I enjoy doing yoga, cooking vegan meals and taking care of my urban garden.
